The comprehensive action includes both the repaving of the road and the renovation of the water supply network. Interested companies can submit their bids until October 15th, inclusive, through the Public Sector Procurement Platform.
The resurfacing intervention, with a budget of 90,300.31 euros, will cover over 1,700 square meters of road surface, aiming to improve road safety, accessibility, and circulation. In parallel, the water supply network will be renovated with an investment of 78,521.21 euros, to reduce breakdowns and increase supply efficiency.
Among the deficiencies detected on Los Gavilanes street are pavement wear, cracks, deteriorated horizontal signage, and service elements affected by time and lack of maintenance. Planned works include milling, replacement of service covers, adhesion spreading, a new asphalt wearing course, printed concrete pavement, construction of a small cyclopean wall, installation of safety barriers, and renewal of signage.
The Councilor for Works and Infrastructure, Ariam Álvarez, highlighted that the action responds to a historical demand from the residents, improving the road and a decades-old water supply network. She noted that the goal is to transform detected needs into concrete projects to enhance the quality of life in the area.
The first deputy mayor and head of Finance, Olivia Delgado, emphasized the importance of planning investments and securing resources. She explained that since June 2023, work has been done on municipal infrastructure and services, and the tender for Los Gavilanes is another step forward. She stressed the comprehensive nature of the intervention, acting simultaneously on the road and the water network.
Delgado added that each project requires an administrative, technical, and budgetary process. In this case, the process has moved from identifying the need to the tendering phase, with the next step being the award of the works. She mentioned the importance of maintaining a roadmap and prioritizing projects to continue improving public infrastructure and services.
The mayor of Arico, Andrés Martínez, described the tender as an important step to continue improving municipal infrastructure and addressing priority demands from residents, highlighting that the intervention will enhance road safety and renew a basic infrastructure like the supply network.
