The disembarkation operation for passengers of the MV Hondius cruise ship will take place within the port of Granadilla, Tenerife. As detailed by the secretary general of Civil Protection and Emergencies of the Ministry of Interior, the anchoring will occur in the safest area designated by the port authority and the maritime captaincy.
Passengers will be transferred ashore in small Zodiac boats once their repatriation flights are confirmed. It has been emphasized that all transit areas will be completely isolated and cordoned off, preventing any interaction with the local population.
“"I assure you that there is absolutely no possibility of interaction with the civilian population. Everything will be isolated and cordoned off. Only authorized personnel, who will have the highest standards of protection, will approach."
Concurrently, the secretary of State for Health has reported the preventive transfer of an individual to a hospital in Alicante. This person, who shared a flight with one of the deceased MV Hondius passengers, has shown symptoms consistent with hantavirus, although their general condition is good.
