The coastal town of El Médano, in Granadilla de Abona, is gearing up to celebrate its festivities in honor of Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes de Roja with an extensive program of events running from September 11th to September 24th.

The celebrations will commence on Friday, September 11th, with the XXI Night Route to the Ere del Hermano Pedro. The following day, Saturday, September 12th, the Tenderete Barquero will take place starting at 8:00 PM, featuring performances by Viñático, Ixemad, the Parranda de Aldea Blanca, Fernandito, and Los Ideales.
On Sunday, September 13th, the youth party D’ LOKOS LATINO will kick off at 6:00 PM with various performances. On Tuesday, September 15th, the seniors' party will be held starting at 8:00 PM, with performances by Fernando Martín, Son Canarias, and El Fernan.
Wednesday, September 16th, and Thursday, September 17th, will be dedicated to the election of the queens, both junior and adult. On Friday, September 18th, the 80s youth party is scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM, with performances by Puretas Party, Ni un pelo de Tonto, DJ Puretas Party, and Los Vándalos. On Saturday, September 19th, in the morning, activities will be organized for the youngest attendees.
One of the most anticipated events will be the XIX Romería Barquera on Sunday, September 20th, which will depart around 12:30 PM following mass. During the pilgrimage, a solidarity offering to the Virgin will be made, with products distributed by Cáritas. This event will feature dancers from El Hierro, the fanfare from Puerto de la Cruz, and various folk groups. The day will conclude with a large dance featuring orchestras Dorada Band, Sonora Olimpia, Malibu Band, Maquinaria Band, and Tropin.
On Saturday, September 19th, at 8:30 PM, mass will be celebrated, followed by a procession with the image of the Virgin and accompaniment by the music band Sociedad Cultural José Reyes Martín. Subsequently, there will be a fireworks display and a street party hosted by Grupo La Calle and Joven Sensación.
Finally, on Thursday, September 24th, the patron saint's day, a solemn mass will be held at 8:30 PM, followed by the Procession of the Candles and a hot chocolate treat.
