The vehicle, which was empty at the time, struck a column, causing significant damage to the front of the bus, particularly the right side of the windshield.
Global company reported that the driver had completed his usual route and was preparing to move the bus to the company's facilities when the incident occurred. The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Safety Coordination Center (Cecoes) 112 received the alert at 9:52 PM.
The exact circumstances of the event are currently under investigation by the Local Police of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Initial theories suggest a possible human error as the cause, although further inquiries will determine the facts.
Fortunately, no passengers were injured as the bus was empty, nor were any pedestrians present at the interchange affected.
