National Police Commissioner Andrés Gómez Gordo has testified in the Kitchen case trial, denying any wrongdoing and explaining the payment of reserved funds to the PP's former treasurer's driver, Sergio Ríos, under orders from Deputy Operational Director Eugenio Pino.

The former head of security for María Dolores de Cospedal in the Government of Castilla-La Mancha, known as "Cospedín" by Villarejo, stated that Sergio Ríos informed him of an attempted recruitment by third parties. After bringing this to the attention of DAO Eugenio Pino, Pino introduced him to Commissioner José Manuel Villarejo, who was seeking information on the PP's former treasurer, Luis Bárcenas.
Gómez Gordo acknowledged contacting Bárcenas' driver to inform him of the Police's involvement, through Villarejo, in investigations conducted without judicial approval. The commissioner maintained that the reserved funds paid to Ríos were disbursed following direct orders from DAO Eugenio Pino.
