The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council has installed a 600-square-meter floral carpet in Plaza de Santa Ana to mark the Corpus Christi celebration.

The project, coordinated by the Parks and Gardens department, uses over a thousand flower bouquets, salt, black volcanic gravel, various colored sands, and 475 square meters of freshly mown grass. The central design features a globe accompanied by the message 'Yes to peace', utilizing a color palette of black, white, green, and red.
A total of 60 municipal workers participated in the installation, working in morning and afternoon shifts to ensure the display was completed in time for the procession. A dedicated team will remain on-site to maintain the carpet until the religious ceremonies begin.
The municipal department emphasized that this initiative aims to promote a message of harmony and opposition to violence, paying tribute to various international causes and historical anniversaries through the symbolism of the colors chosen for the floral composition.
