The design, representing 'Musa', daughter of music and don Carnal, was selected from six finalist proposals during the poster selection gala held at the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus. The event, attended by mayor Carolina Darias and councilor Héctor Alemán, marked the beginning of the carnival's events.
The exterior rear of the Auditorium was transformed into a spectacular piano to present the six finalist projects, chosen from 23 submitted works. The creation by Ernesto Santana (photographer) and Nabil Concepción (graphic designer) stood out for its vibrant composition and tactile quality, achieved through manual creation with real materials before digitalization.
The creators explained their goal was to "create a poster as lively as the Carnival itself," aiming to "project closeness" and value "art and craftsmanship and the people." The work sought to be "real, physical, and tactile," using "materials we all have at home for Carnival."
During the event, broadcast live by Televisión Canaria and hosted by Wendy Fuentes and Adolfo Rodríguez, Guacimara Sabina Álamo was also announced as the winner of the public prize for her participation in the vote.
The poster selection and the presentation of the event program, designed by artistic director Josué Quevedo, featuring performances by Yet Garbey and Anaé, kick off the countdown to an edition that will pay homage to the very essence of the festival.
