The Telde City Council has given the green light to the reception of the Piletillas urbanization. This unanimous agreement by the Local Government Board concludes a lengthy administrative process, putting an end to years of pending procedures and numerous claims from the area's residents, thereby advancing the urbanistic normalization of the neighborhood.
The situation in Piletillas, whose formal reception had been formally requested by its residents since at least 2020, has gone through various administrative stages. In 2021, the City Council initiated a specific file to study the reception of the works, also considering the possible existence of a tacit reception due to historical municipal actions and services in the area.
The procedure, processed by the Urban Planning Department led by Desirée Hernández, required organizing years of accumulated background information and municipal reports. The councilor highlighted the complexity of the administrative reality and the need for solid technical and legal backing for the final resolution, which brings greater normality and security to Piletillas.
The City Council has also emphasized the persistence of the residents of Piletillas in their claims. The mayor of Telde, Juan Antonio Peña, described the resolution as a response to a long-standing demand, stating that "Piletillas had been waiting too long" and that the Local Government Board's agreement marks the closure of one chapter and the beginning of another for the neighborhood.
