The Telde City Council, through the Department of Citizen Participation and Volunteering, has called a citizen meeting under the slogan «X Amor a Telde» for next Sunday, July 20th, at 5:00 PM in the Casa de la Juventud. This event will mark the beginning of the municipality's future Volunteer Network, aiming to foster a more active and committed citizenry.
The initiative seeks to gather residents willing to dedicate time and experience to improving the city through collaboration on social, cultural, community, and solidarity projects. These projects will be promoted by both the City Council and local associative fabric, creating a permanent space for citizen involvement for people of all ages and backgrounds.
The future «X Amor a Telde» Volunteer Network aims to organize volunteers to support municipal events, solidarity initiatives, awareness campaigns, environmental actions, cultural projects, and social support programs, thereby contributing to collective well-being and consolidating a culture of solidarity and co-responsibility.
During the meeting on July 20th, the project will be officially presented, and a participatory space will be opened for attendees to propose ideas and jointly define the network's operation, ensuring it addresses the municipality's real needs and that citizens are a fundamental pillar in its design.
“"A city is also built from solidarity and the involvement of those who are part of it."
Councilor Janoa Anceaume emphasized that volunteering is a valuable expression of social commitment and encouraged all citizens, regardless of age or prior experience, to participate. "The essential thing is to have enthusiasm, a desire to collaborate, and the wish to contribute to the well-being of Telde," she stated, aspiring for the network to become a meeting point for people committed to their municipality.
The Department believes this network will boost collaboration between the administration, associations, and citizens, facilitating the organization of initiatives that meet social needs and strengthen the community fabric. The project also aims to highlight the role of volunteering as an agent of social transformation, promoting values such as solidarity and active participation.
The Telde City Council seeks to consolidate a city model where citizen involvement improves quality of life and fosters a more united community committed to the general interest.
