The Telde City Council has activated a special cleaning operation to ensure the good condition of the beach and public spaces during the Melenara festivities, one of the most crowded celebrations in the municipality.

The Department of Street Cleaning and Waste Collection of the Telde City Council, headed by María Calderín, has launched an extraordinary operation for the Melenara festivities. The objective is to ensure that the beach, promenade, and public areas are kept in the best possible condition before, during, and after each event.
This operation will complement the usual cleaning service and will extend from the start of the most attended events until the end of the festivities. Special attention will be paid to the weekend, a period expected to see thousands of attendees.

"We appreciate the commitment of the municipal service staff, who are making a significant effort these days to handle the increase in visitors."

The reinforcement of work will be concentrated mainly between Friday and Sunday, with teams distributed in morning, afternoon, and night shifts. Activities will include manual and mechanical sweeping, washing, disinfection, continuous emptying of bins, and the installation of support containers.
Specific attention will be given to the Taliarte area, where additional containers will be installed on Friday. On Saturday, coinciding with the main day of the festivities and the fireworks display, preventive and post-event cleaning efforts will be intensified, along with the distribution of bags among attendees.
On Sunday, cleaning tasks will begin in the early morning to restore the beach to its usual condition as soon as possible. Throughout the day, washing, sand sifting, and conditioning of the areas through which the procession will pass will continue.
The Telde City Council calls for the cooperation of residents and visitors to deposit waste in the designated areas, thereby contributing to maintaining a clean environment during the celebrations.
