On Friday, El Rosario hosted the ordinary session of the Executive Committee of the Canary Federation of Municipalities (Fecam). During the meeting, mayors from Canarias analyzed various issues of great importance for local administrations, adopting agreements on education, employment, beach safety, and municipal financing.
The mayor of El Rosario and host of the meeting, Escolástico Gil, thanked the municipality for hosting the event and emphasized the fundamental role of Fecam in managing municipalism. "Municipalism today would not be understood without the Canary Federation of Municipalities, a body that goes beyond political parties and where we always try to find joint solutions for the benefit of the citizens," he stated.
For her part, the president of Fecam and mayor of Candelaria, María Concepción Brito, thanked Escolástico Gil for the welcome and described the session as "productive." She highlighted that decisions aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of Canary citizens were made from the outset.
One of the key points addressed was the situation of educational centers in light of the recent high temperatures recorded in Canarias. Fecam agreed to formally request the Government of Canarias, specifically the Department of Education, to undertake the necessary investments for air conditioning systems in educational centers, following a prior study of existing needs.
