More than 20,000 people benefited from the diverse activities promoted by the Educational and Social Area of Auditorio de Tenerife during the 2025-2026 season. The program, developed from September 2025 to June 2026, encompassed shows for schools and social centers, in-classroom actions, mediation activities, online meetings with teachers, educational resources, and guided educational and technical visits.
The Minister of Culture of the Cabildo, José Carlos Acha, expressed his satisfaction with the results, highlighting the commitment to strengthening this area. He noted that the offerings reach audiences of all ages, from babies in the Coro Canguro program to a 78-year-old student in the Escuelas de Teatro. Acha emphasized the variety of the proposal, reflecting the diversity of Auditorio's shows, and mentioned that activities extend throughout the island's geography.
The minister also highlighted the involvement of the Fundación DISA in the Prevenidos program, which brings culture closer to young people. He recalled the celebration in Tenerife of the XVII Conference on Inclusion in Performing Arts, organized by the Inaem, and the previous ROCE Meeting, initiatives that have increased the Auditorium's external visibility.
Educational concerts and shows for schools and social centers included 19 activities, with an attendance exceeding 13,400 spectators. Among these were proposals with the Sinfónica de Tenerife and a performance of the opera El castillo de Barbazul by Bela Bartok.
The first edition of Coro Canguro involved 40 adults and 24 babies from about ten municipalities. This early childhood project, developed with the methodology of Grandes Oyentes, included instrumental music, body, and vocal dynamics. Tenerife families actively participated in this organization's activities in New York.
The Teatro en la Escuela (Theater in School) program offered a catalog of 15 companies selected by an expert committee. A total of 81 performances and 121 creative process sessions were held in 99 centers across 23 municipalities, reaching 6,591 spectators.
The Escuelas de Teatro (Theater Schools) trained 131 students aged between 7 and 78 in about ten municipalities. Meanwhile, Teatro Aficionado (Amateur Theater) programmed 42 performances by ten island collectives.
Educational guided tours, aimed at schoolchildren, provided training for 777 students. Technical guided tours were also conducted for 190 students in specialization cycles. Additionally, mediation activities were carried out with students and groups such as Fundación ONCE and AFES Salud Mental.
The Educational and Social Area of Auditorio de Tenerife is associated with RESEO European Network and the National Network of Educational Concert Organizers (ROCE). Its objective is to bring arts and creative processes closer to all citizens, with a special focus on schoolchildren and individuals at risk of social exclusion, promoting art as a contribution to social well-being and critical thinking.
