The Tabaiba Municipal Public Library has been awarded by the Ministry of Culture with the 2026 edition prize of the María Moliner Reading Promotion Campaign for its project "My Third Place: The Municipal Library".

The municipal library was recognized among the 370 best reading promotion projects nationwide, receiving an award of 2,777.77 euros for the acquisition of new bibliographic resources.
The winning project focuses on the proximity of local administration as key to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals. It highlights the essential role of libraries as a "third place", a meeting space, and a home away from home, built by the community itself.
The María Moliner campaign, established since 1998, aims to ensure that any reader can access a book, rewarding reading promotion among all social groups.
This annual competition aims to recognize libraries in municipalities with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants that carry out unique projects, valuing reading promotion, library efficiency, social integration, and the use of new technologies. The call is made in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
