The El Rosario City Council has proactively activated the Municipal Emergency Plan (PEMU) following a breakdown in the La Parra pumping station, which will temporarily disrupt the water supply in La Esperanza.

A significant breakdown in the La Parra pumping station, which supplies water to the La Montañeta reservoir, has prompted the El Rosario City Council to activate the Municipal Emergency Plan (PEMU). This exceptional measure will allow for the necessary repair work on the machinery, leading to a temporary interruption of the potable water supply.
Water supply cuts will occur during nighttime hours to minimize disruption to residents' daily lives. The scheduled times for the service interruption are between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, partially affecting the area of La Esperanza. The council aims with this nocturnal measure to "ensure the proper functioning of the network during the mornings" until the service can be fully restored.
The City Council has apologized to residents for any inconvenience this situation may cause. Furthermore, it has taken the opportunity to remind the public of the current regulations regarding the legal obligation to have indoor tanks or cisterns in homes, as specified in Article 69 of the El Rosario Municipal Water Supply Service Regulations (published in the BOP No. 46, dated April 16, 2025). These private storage systems are crucial for ensuring a minimum water reserve in households to cope with sporadic supply interruptions.
