The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council has approved an investment exceeding 2.5 million euros to renovate the pavement and enhance road safety on fifteen high-traffic streets.

A total of fifteen busy streets in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will undergo significant improvement works in the coming months. These projects, which include asphalt renewal and road safety enhancements, are part of the Municipal Asphalt Plan and represent an investment of over 2.5 million euros.
The City Council's Governing Board has greenlit this project, with execution scheduled to last six months. The Council has announced that traffic restrictions will be communicated to citizens, aiming to minimize disruptions.
According to the mayor of Santa Cruz, José Manuel Bermúdez, this intervention aims to renew the pavement, correct defects, and improve safety for both vehicles and pedestrians, thereby enhancing the capital's road infrastructure.
The streets included in the project are José Martí Avenue, Acceso Valleseco Street, Francisco La Roche Avenue (Anaga Avenue), San Sebastián Avenue (between Reyes Católicos and La Salle), Benito Pérez Armas Avenue, Eladio Roca y Salazar Street, Juan Rumeu García Street, Fragata Danmark Street, Simón Bolívar Street, Islas Canarias Avenue, Domingo Salazar Cologan Street, Puerta Canseco Street, Lope de Vega Street, José Zárate y Peniche Street, and República de Honduras Street.
The councilor responsible for Public Services and Strategic Planning, Carlos Tarife, indicated that the works could commence in early June. These actions will significantly improve the road surface in areas with high daily traffic and address long-standing community demands.
Additionally, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council will implement the "largest asphalt plan in history" this year in the El Mayorazgo Industrial Park, with a three-million-euro investment to pave numerous deteriorated streets.
