The contract, which includes the drafting of the execution project, site supervision, and health and safety coordination, has been awarded to architect Javier Martínez Amigó for a total amount of 84,530 euros, including taxes. The architect's financial offer was 79,000 euros before taxes.
The tender process, managed through a simplified open procedure, received three bids, all from small and medium-sized enterprises. The base tender budget was set at 107,829.43 euros (VAT included), with an estimated contract value of 110,852.69 euros.
The selected proposal was not the lowest in price, which was 75,581.36 euros. The final decision was based on a comprehensive evaluation that considered, in addition to price, other criteria such as the composition of the work team, the analysis of the facilities to be designed, the planning of work and resources, and the methodology for site supervision.
The award agreement was adopted on August 31, 2026, by the Governing Board of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council. The contract formalization cannot take place until fifteen business days have passed since the notification of the award to the bidding companies.
This intervention aims to introduce shade solutions on El Castillo street to make transit and stays more comfortable for residents, visitors, and merchants, especially during periods of high sun exposure and elevated temperatures. The specific design and shade system will be detailed in the execution project that the awarded architect will now draft.
