The Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council is progressing with the comprehensive renovation of the historic building on General Antequera street, investing over 4 million euros to centralize strategic services.

After remaining closed for more than six years, the property is set to become a hub for municipal management. The works, covering 3,300 square meters, will allow for the relocation of 187 public employees and the reorganization of key areas such as Citizen Security, Emergencies, and Mobility.
The project, expected to be operational between the end of this year and early 2027, includes the creation of a new Citizen Information and Assistance Office on the ground floor. This space will feature digital kiosks and registration areas to facilitate procedures for the city's residents.
One of the most significant improvements will be the installation of the new Mobility Control Center and the Emergency Operations Coordination Room on the second floor. These facilities will replace current systems, allowing for a more agile response to any incidents in the city.

"The investment will provide modern, efficient facilities adapted to current technological needs, especially in such sensitive areas as emergencies and mobility."

The building's modernization also includes the implementation of new telecommunications networks, climate control systems, and universal accessibility improvements. With this action, the council aims to optimize the use of its administrative offices, reduce rental costs, and improve internal coordination between different municipal departments.
