The festive program will kick off at 10:00 AM with an exhibition focused on ancestral communication methods native to the Canary Islands. This display will pay special attention to practices such as whistling language (silbo), bell ringing, the use of bucios (conch shells), and lithophones.
Simultaneously, at the same hour, a practical workshop on bucio playing and a silbo demonstration will take place. This event is part of the Insular Encounter of Bucio Playing, which this year marks its 5th edition, drawing hundreds of participants to the open commercial area of Artenara.
Starting at 10:30 AM, children's activities will commence, accompanied by a street parade featuring the band Charanga La Aldea. One of the day's central moments will arrive at 12:00 PM with the highly anticipated Announcing Ringing.
Each year, a lottery among registered residents selects who will have the privilege of being the official ringers for the festivities, symbolizing community involvement in initiating the celebrations.
The musical celebration will extend from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM in Plaza de San Matías. The festival will feature performances by groups including Los Salvapantallas, Kalima Limón, and Armonía Show, offering a wide range of styles for attendees to enjoy.
