Progress on the Avenida Marítima was highlighted by the mayor, who indicated that the section leading to the castillete is expected to be opened for public use before the Christmas holidays. This opening will also provide full accessibility to Santa Cruz de La Palma beach.
Antona thanked the company Carlos Candelario for their work during this phase of the Avenida Marítima works. As a gesture to residents, a fragment of the old seawall will be preserved.
Regarding Díaz Pimienta street, the mayor announced two significant improvements for local residents. Soon, the section from the square to the Recova will be asphalted, which will improve vehicle traffic in the area. Furthermore, only 60 meters remain to complete the street, with the expectation that it will be open for use before Christmas.
Concerning the works at the entrance and exit of the port, it was announced that the installed barriers will be definitively removed this Thursday, opening the square for public enjoyment. Subsequently, a second phase will begin, focusing on the installation of street furniture, such as benches and pergolas, and the connection with the Plaza de la Constitución.
These actions are part of a broader plan to transform Santa Cruz de La Palma.
