Poet and performance artist Elsa Moreno, winner of the National Poetry Prize L de Lírica 2023, will lead a writing mentorship in La Palma on June 16 and 17, as part of the Colectivo Loba Lab cultural innovation project.

Elsa Moreno, a recognized poet and performance artist, will participate in the cultural innovation project Colectivo Loba Lab in La Palma during June. The artist, recipient of the National Poetry Prize L de Lírica 2023, will conduct a Writing Mentorship on June 16 and 17, aimed at 15 literary creators.
The workshop will focus on key aspects for developing a personal literary voice, including emotional narrative, rhythm, point of view, and tools to enhance writing processes. Moreno, whose work falls under 'living poetry,' merges poetry with bodily movement, a practice that emerged organically from her contemporary dance background.
The poet highlighted influences such as María Salgado, Alberto Cortés, Natalia Fernandes, Poliana Lima, Quim Bigas, Gloria Fuertes, Ana Becciu, Berta García Faet, Jorge Riechmann, and Chantal Maillard. Philosophically, she references Juhani Pallasmaa and María Zambrano. Moreno describes her creative process as a constant dialogue between writing, movement, and voice, where the body is the foundation of her relationship with the world.
Moreno believes that poetry, as an art form, can be a driver of social transformation by generating alternative symbolic frameworks. She expressed her interest in the unique sensibility of island territories and her eagerness to explore the artistic scene in the Canary Islands, of which she previously only knew the work of Patricia Figueroa in La Palma.
The collaboration with Colectivo Loba Lab originated from a proposal by the collective. Moreno is currently in a prolific creative phase, enjoying the tour of her latest recital and the reception of her poetry collection, while already contemplating future projects that will expand her performance language, including research into obsessive symbols that may lead to a performance piece and a book.
