This coming Saturday, May 30th, marks the Canary Islands Day, a public holiday that may alter the usual hours of shops and supermarkets across the archipelago. Consumers needing to shop should check the availability of their preferred stores.

The Hiperdino chain will keep most of its stores open in both Gran Canaria and Tenerife and La Palma. The exception will be the establishment on León y Castillo street in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which will close. For Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and El Hierro, it is recommended to verify specific hours on their website, as some locations might remain closed.

Mercadona will operate with special hours, opening from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at all its Canary Islands locations.

Spar supermarkets will have varying hours depending on the store, with openings between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM and closings ranging from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Detailed information for each store is available on the chain's website.

Aldi and Carrefour will also open their doors, though with special hours that will require prior consultation on their respective websites or directly at the stores.

Alcampo has confirmed that its stores will remain open on May 30th, although some may apply modified hours or occasional closures.

Regarding Lidl, stores in Gran Canaria and Tenerife will largely operate within their usual hours of 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Shopping centers are generally expected to open as usual. Las Arenas Shopping Center, for instance, has scheduled special activities to celebrate Canary Islands Day, including salt carpet exhibitions and traditional games. El Corte Inglés will follow its regular schedule, from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
