This new high-tech equipment will significantly enhance the capacity of the hospital's Radiology service for precise diagnostics and medical assistance. The investment aims to modernize the healthcare infrastructure across the archipelago.
The machine will complement the activities of the HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) project, used in treating Parkinson's patients, and will accommodate a growing volume of MRI examinations. It is seen as a key advancement for the clinical efficiency of the healthcare system.
Beyond its clinical benefits, the Doctor Negrín Hospital, recognized as a university hospital and research center, will see its teaching and scientific endeavors strengthened by this new technology. The initiative is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
