The work will focus on detecting and repairing existing leaks in the Tigalate water supply network, as well as incorporating a remote control system and new pumping equipment. The goal is to reduce water loss and prevent supply interruptions, ensuring a safer service for residents.
Mayor Idafe Hernández highlighted the necessity of this intervention to improve a basic service. Meanwhile, the Councilor for Works and Services, Luis Cabrera, explained that the new control tools will enable faster problem localization and more agile action.
Planned actions include the installation of a remote control system at the Tigalate reservoir to monitor levels and flow rates in real-time. Sections of piping with identified leaks will also be replaced, particularly around the LP-206 and La Esperilla road, and valves will be installed to sectorize the network.
Furthermore, two new pumping units will be installed at the Tiguerorte 1 and Tiguerorte 2 reservoirs, replacing the current equipment. Emergency hydrants will also be restored to ensure their availability in case of forest fires.
The works, processed as an emergency measure, have been awarded to Fontanería Felipe Lorenzo, S.L.U. and have an execution period of two months.
