The Municipal Market of Villa de Mazo will be the venue this Saturday, September 26th, starting at 11:00 AM, for the International Poetic Improvisation Event Canarias-Cuba. This literary space focuses on sung poetry, merging the traditions of both islands.
The mayor of Villa de Mazo, Idafe Hernández, highlighted the importance of hosting initiatives like this, which enhance Canarian and Cuban traditions and connect the history of both territories with the municipality's residents. "Culture has an enormous capacity to connect people, and we want to host these kinds of proposals that combine tradition, participation, and entertainment," stated Hernández.
For his part, the Councilor for Local Development, Julián Delgado, extended an invitation to the public to attend this encounter. He emphasized that the event not only values both cultures but does so through spectacle and artistic expression, aiming to offer a different kind of day and energize public spaces.
Miriam Perestelo, Councilor for Economic Promotion and Commerce and for Culture and Cultural Heritage of the Cabildo de La Palma and CEO of Sodepal, pointed out the positive economic impact that such activities generate in Villa de Mazo, attracting visitors and fostering local commercial activity.
The event will feature prominent local figures such as Yapci Bienes, Jesús Cristo Pérez, Joseíto Bienes, and Jonay Castilla, alongside Cuban representatives like Adriana Fajardo and Murguilla. Attendance is free of charge and does not require advance booking.
