The festivities in honor of the Virgen de Lourdes in the neighborhood of El Hoyo reach their peak this Saturday, August 15th. The day will begin with children's activities in the morning, followed at 8:00 PM by a mass sung by the Rondalla Camino Viejo del Hoyo. After the religious ceremony, the traditional procession will take place, accompanied by the Banda Bravo.
The musical program to liven up the festivities includes, this Friday, August 14th, a street dance starting at 10:00 PM with performances by ‘Vado Permanente’ and ‘Hache Tamarindo’. The program will extend until August 23rd with the awards ceremony for the tournaments, and on October 12th, the celebration will conclude with the neighborhood's traditional excursion to a location on the island.
The patronal festivities of the neighborhood of El Hoyo officially began on August 7th with the reading of the opening speech by teacher and resident Paula Azcanio López. Subsequently, the II Memorial Calixto González was held with a musical performance by the ‘Grupo Isleño’. On Saturday, August 8th, the 3rd Donkey Descent to Fuente Agria took place, accompanied by the Banda Aborigen, and on August 9th, the Animal Exhibition was held, featuring sheep shearing and donkey rides, among other events.
