The Vega de San Mateo is finalizing preparations for its float for the Romería del Pino, which recreates the emblematic Utiaca washhouse, honoring water.

Preparations are underway for the float that will represent the Vega de San Mateo in the traditional Romería del Pino. Subsequently, this same float will represent the City Council in the Romería-Ofrenda in honor of San Mateo Apóstol.
This year, the float recreates one of the most emblematic spaces in the municipality: the Utiaca washhouse, in line with the chosen theme for the festivities, dedicated to water.
The float was designed and crafted by the Gran Canarian artisan Aarón Martín, who is working on the final details before its debut. The choice is particularly significant after a year where water has played a special role in the Vega, emphasizing its importance for the landscape, midlands, and way of life.
The final touches are taking shape before the float sets out to represent San Mateo in one of the most important events on Gran Canaria's festive calendar.
