The Las Palmas Command, supported by units from the Canarias Zone, has established a permanent security operation in the Mariana Villa of Teror and its surroundings, as well as in the municipalities along the pilgrimage routes. This comprehensive deployment, coordinated annually, seeks to ensure a safe and orderly environment for all participants.
The operation involves most specializations of the Guardia Civil from the Las Palmas Command and deployed units from the Canarias Zone, such as GRS Nº 8 and the Air Unit. Each unit will have specific tasks to cover security needs during the main events scheduled for September 7 and 8, when an attendance of up to 250,000 people is expected.
The plan includes continuous patrols and checkpoints in high-concentration areas to prevent criminal acts and ensure public safety. Coordination will be managed from the Command and Coordination Center located at the Teror Town Hall, where the Guardia Civil will maintain a presence for service control and coordination with other institutions such as emergency services, Local Police, and the Canarian General Police Force.
At the Guardia Civil facilities in Teror, a citizen service and diligence office will be established. It is recommended to call 062 for any incidents. Assigned specializations include: Public Security (public order, seizure of risky items like glass containers, bladed weapons, or pyrotechnics), Traffic Subsector (traffic flow on the route and access roads), Air Surveillance (helicopter supervision), SEPRONA and Arms Intervention (fire prevention and pyrotechnics control), PEGASO Team (drone control), and Fiscal and Borders Patrol (PAFIF) (prevention of unauthorized stalls).
This deployment is carried out in close collaboration with other security forces, emergency services, and local authorities. The Guardia Civil requests the public's cooperation in respecting the instructions of security personnel to contribute to a safe and festive development of the celebrations.
