The municipality of Buenavista del Norte will host the VI Terrae Conference, titled ‘Agroecology from Municipalism and Insularity’, from September 17 to 19. The event's primary objective is to study tourism models that benefit local agriculture, territory, and community, establishing itself as a benchmark in promoting local agroecology.
Under the theme ‘Visits that Care for Territories’, the gathering will explore how island municipalities can guide tourism to foster the relationship between visitors and the environment. Agroecology, kilometer zero products, landscape conservation, and commitment to those who sustain rural areas are essential components of this program.
The conference will bring together representatives from public administrations, producers, experts, and the local population. The program includes lectures, exchange forums, and technical visits, aiming to create tourism proposals based on sustainability and community participation.

Mayor Eva García highlighted the importance of individuals working to strengthen local products and the agricultural sector, emphasizing the need to "move towards tourism that goes hand in hand with agriculture".

The theoretical and practical program includes technical visits to locations such as Punta de Teno and El Palmar, where participants will learn about territory management and landscape conservation experiences. It also features a laboratory for agroecological products, an experience-sharing forum, dialogue sessions, and a participatory workshop.
The conference is organized by the Buenavista del Norte City Council and the Intermunicipal Association Red Terrae, with support from the Dinamiza Rural program, promoted by Gestión del Medio Rural de Canarias (GMR Canarias).
