The Arrecife City Council, through its Department of Events and Activities, is organizing the first edition of the Open-Air Theater Festival «RecovaViva!», which will take place at La Recova on November 6 and 7, 2026. The event, offering free admission until full capacity is reached, aims to consolidate Arrecife as a cultural capital and revitalize the city's life.
The program combines training conferences led by national and regional professionals, live musical ambiance, and award-winning theatrical performances. The councilor for the area, Óscar López, has rescheduled the activity following the official mourning period declared in Spain.
On Friday, November 6, at 6:30 PM, the conference "The Dramaturgy of Costume: Narrating Without Words Through Costume Design" will be held, led by Claudio Martín, a costume designer and dresser for theater, opera, zarzuela, and dance. At 7:30 PM, there will be musical ambiance with Marius John and Arima Saavedra, followed by the performance of the comedy «Las Pérez García» at 8:30 PM by the company Somos Teatro.
On Saturday, November 7, actress Lili Quintana will give the conference "The Challenge of Making Theater in the Canary Islands" at 6:30 PM. Later, at 7:30 PM, Marius John and Arima Saavedra will perform again. The day will conclude at 8:30 PM with the staging of the play «Las mujeres que (m)aman demasiado» by the company Faranduleando Teatro.
Mayor Yonathan de León and councilor Óscar López invite residents and visitors to enjoy this artistic and entertainment proposal held outdoors in the historic heart of Arrecife.
