The Arrecife City Council has launched an asphalting and urban improvement plan to renew pavements and enhance road safety on all streets in the capital of Lanzarote, with the goal of completing 600 streets.

The plan, driven by Mayor Yonathan de León and the Department of Public Works, has already successfully renovated the asphalt of 400 streets in neighborhoods such as Las Salinas, La Destila, Argana Baja, La Vega, El Lomo, the city center, Valterra, Altavista, Titerroy, Puerto de Naos, Tahíche Chico, and sectors of El Charco, Maneje, Argana Alta, El Cable, and La Concha.
The Department of Public Works plans to continue the resurfacing work in the neighborhoods of Argana Alta, Tinasoria, and Maneje during the autumn and winter.
Beyond asphalting, urban improvement actions are underway on key streets such as Manolo Millares, León y Castillo, Triana, and Pérez Galdós. These projects, which include the creation of eco-boulevards, aim for a comprehensive renewal of the urban image, neighborhood cohesion, improved accessibility, and the creation of shaded spaces, facilitating pedestrian and vehicular mobility in the city center.
These interventions are contributing to the urban transformation of Arrecife, combining the renovation of existing infrastructure with new mobility solutions and enhancing the value of its public spaces, highlighting its port origins.
