The investigation, conducted by the Local Brigade of Judicial Police in Arrecife, has successfully clarified three distinct incidents. These events led to the ignition of up to six high-intensity fires.
As a consequence of these actions, a total of 14 vehicles and 13 waste containers were affected, some of them completely destroyed by the flames.
Citizen collaboration was particularly significant during the investigation, providing valuable information for the clarification of the events.
The fires caused considerable alarm among residents and received extensive coverage in local media. Police inquiries led to the identification and location of the alleged perpetrator, a male with a history of police records, who is linked to the investigated episodes.
Once the police proceedings were completed, the detainee was handed over to the competent judicial authority. This authority ordered his admission to a psychiatric hospital unit.
This police operation has clarified several fires that caused significant material damage to both vehicles and urban furniture in the city of Arrecife.
