Lanzarote's vehicle fleet closed the year 2025 with a total of 149,446 registered vehicles, representing an increase of more than 4,500 units compared to the previous year.

Lanzarote began the current year with an automotive fleet of approximately 150,000 vehicles, according to estimates from the Cabildo's Data Center based on official figures. This number signifies a rise of over 4,500 units compared to the end of 2024, reinforcing the island's growing vehicle fleet trend observed in recent years.
The municipality of Arrecife continues to be the area with the highest vehicle concentration, totaling 52,844 units by the end of the last fiscal year. The island's capital saw a growth of more than 2,000 automobiles over the past twelve months.
Conversely, Haría records the lowest number of vehicles with 5,352 units, experiencing a modest increase of about a hundred. Meanwhile, San Bartolomé had 25,774 automobiles at the start of the year, exceeding its registered population, partly due to rental companies based in Playa Honda. This municipality also saw a rise of several hundred units.
The municipalities of Tías and Teguise rank third and fourth, respectively, in terms of automobile numbers. Tías counts 22,120 units, with increases of several hundred, though it did not reach its 2022 peak. Teguise registers 21,802 vehicles, also with similar increases. Yaiza has 14,626 units in circulation, and Tinajo has 6,928 registered vehicles, both showing increases of several hundred automobiles.
Given the current trend, and considering that two decades ago the figure did not exceed 100,000 vehicles, it is probable that the island will close the decade with at least 160,000 vehicles driving on Lanzarote and La Graciosa's roads.
