The cleaning and adaptation works of the channels in Maretas de Montaña Blanca, in Tías, promoted by the Insular Water Council of Lanzarote, have surpassed 70% of their execution.

The works, contracted to Transportes y Excavaciones Sccatmeca S.L., are progressing at a good pace, with completion expected this October. The cleaning of these channels is essential for ensuring the proper drainage of traditional water collection systems and for protecting the mountain slopes from erosion.
The Minister of Water for the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Domingo Cejas, highlighted the progress of these tasks, which are part of a commitment. He also announced that new works will commence this month in Arrecife and Haría, focusing on improving rainwater drainage and cleaning land in several ravines. These new actions have a combined investment of approximately 1.5 million euros, with 950,000 euros contributed by the Government of the Canary Islands.
