The event, organized by the education department of the Fuerteventura Island Council, is part of the ‘Referents Who Inspire’ project, aiming to convey the value of perseverance and mental strength to young people through the experiences of prominent figures.
The insular counselor for Education and Youth, Adargoma Hernández, highlighted the importance of these real-life experiences for students, stating that "having referents who convey these messages from their own experience allows us to connect with young people in a much closer and more meaningful way".
Carolina Marín shared aspects of her sporting and personal career, marked by historic successes such as her Olympic gold at Rio de Janeiro 2016, but also by injuries and difficult moments that have tested her resilience and determination.
The ‘Referents Who Inspire’ project is based on the conviction that personal experiences are powerful educational tools, fostering values such as effort, leadership, and emotional well-being beyond the classroom.
