The President of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola García, and the Mayor of La Oliva, Isaí Blanco, signed the preliminary expropriation deeds, an essential procedure before starting the project on the FV-109 road.
This inter-administrative collaboration aims to enhance the safety, accessibility, and overall conditions of this road section, which has seen a significant increase in traffic and pedestrian flow.
Lola García highlighted the importance of these improvements for the quality of life of Fuerteventura's residents and the collaboration with local councils to promote road infrastructure projects.
For his part, Isaí Blanco reaffirmed the municipal commitment to projects that address residents' demands regarding safety and infrastructure.
The project, promoted by the Roads Department led by Blas Acosta and awarded to Obras Públicas Canarias S.L., has a ten-month execution period and includes the regeneration of the town's urban area.
Improvements will include new sidewalks, infrastructure for traffic lights, lighting, elimination of architectural barriers with adapted ramps, pedestrian crossings, and the sanitation network. The intervention will cover 25,600 m² on Coronel González del Hierro street.
