The Neuromajo 2026-2027 competition concluded its final rounds this weekend at the Playitas Sports Resorts in Tuineje, bringing together nearly 300 participants from all municipalities of Fuerteventura. The events included Relays, Canary Hoop, Words and Numbers, and Color Figures, fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie.
The teams qualified for the regional phase NeuroCanarias are Las Apañás (Puerto del Rosario) in third place, Camellito (Tuineje) in second position, and Amigos de Pájara with the highest score.
The medal ceremony was attended by the president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Lola García, and the Minister of Social Action, Víctor Alonso, accompanied by the mayors David de Vera (Puerto del Rosario), Alejandro Jorge (Pájara), and David Herrera (Tuineje), as well as other municipal representatives.
Neuromajo is a project promoted by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, through the Ministry of Social Action and the Neurolimpica Association, with the involvement of the island's six town councils. This year, Padilla Supermercados Spar, Grupo Barceló, and Dany Sport have joined as collaborators to promote active aging.
The regional competition NeuroCanarias 2026 will take place on November 20, 21, and 22 in the municipality of Pájara, bringing together the best teams from the archipelago.
To conclude the season, the Palacio de Formación y Congresos de Fuerteventura in Puerto del Rosario will host the NeuroMajo 2026 Gala on February 6, 2027, to recognize the effort made throughout the season.
