In El Hierro, the Nuestra Señora de Los Reyes Hospital has enhanced its resolution capacity with new consultations in Medical Oncology, Radiotherapy Oncology, and Rheumatology, along with acquiring an ultrasound machine and an MRI scanner, expected to prevent around 800 annual patient transfers.
La Gomera, through the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe Hospital, maintains reinforcement plans across fourteen specialties, operating regularly on Fridays and Saturdays. Professionals primarily come from the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital and other public network centers.
The La Palma University Hospital combines telemedicine with specialist deployments from the Canary Islands University Hospital (HUC) and others like the Insular University Hospital Complex-Maternal and Child (CHUIMI). Coverage has expanded in Endocrinology, Pediatric Cardiology, Neurology, Urology, and Radiodiagnostics.
The General Hospital of Fuerteventura has integrated high-value care units such as Radiotherapy Oncology and Hemodynamic Cardiology, preventing patient transfers to Gran Canaria. The Hemodynamic Cardiology unit saw an 85.8% increase in activity in 2025.
Lastly, the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital in Lanzarote receives specialists in Neurosurgery and Thoracic Surgery, among others. The progressive expansion of its service portfolio has reduced patient transfers by nearly a thousand between 2022 and 2025, notably in the Hemodynamic and Radiotherapy Oncology units.
