The Civil Guard has dismantled an illegal distribution network for aesthetic medicine products, arresting two people in Gran Canaria and a total of nine nationwide.

Operations in the province of Las Palmas focused on the towns of Carrizal and Vecindario, where doses of botulinum toxin (Botox) and hyaluronic acid were seized. The operation, conducted between March 2025 and May 2026, has led to the dismantling of clandestine clinics and distribution networks operating without health authorization.
The investigation began after suspicious packages were found at Foronda airport in Vitoria-Gasteiz. These contained medicines and health products, mainly from South Korea and Vietnam, imported into Spain without complying with safety and transport regulations, posing a serious risk to consumer health.
Among those arrested are individuals without health training as well as licensed professionals who performed treatments in unauthorized locations such as beauty salons, aesthetic centers, or private homes. They are accused of crimes against public health and, in some cases, professional intrusion.
In total, the operation has resulted in nine arrests and two individuals under investigation in various provinces, including Bizkaia, Barcelona, and Asturias. Approximately 10,000 units of botulinum toxin, over 200 vials of hyaluronic acid, and more than 115,000 euros in alleged illicit profits have been seized.
Health authorities warn of the danger of undergoing aesthetic procedures with products of unknown origin or administered by unqualified personnel, which can cause severe infections or permanent sequelae.
