Everything points to the Gran Canaria Stadium recording a complete sell-out for Sunday's encounter between UD Las Palmas and Málaga. The last time the Siete Palmas venue posted a "sold out" sign was in May 2023, for the promotion match to the First Division against Alavés.
Although previous seasons in the First Division came close to capacity, such as the 2023-24 campaign against Real Madrid with 32,037 spectators, the current anticipation suggests that this figure could be surpassed, filling the stadium to its total capacity.
The club's management estimates that a high percentage of season ticket holders will exercise their preferential right to purchase tickets, guaranteeing a base of over 20,000 attendees. Added to this is the demand from non-season ticket holders, whose long queues at the ticket offices on the first day of sales indicate an additional eight to ten thousand tickets.
A significant influx of visiting team fans is expected. Despite 300 tickets being allocated to Málaga, good air connections and the possibility of purchasing tickets on the island suggest a "massive landing" of Málaga supporters, exceeding the assigned quota.
The anticipation generated in both cities, with Málaga also expecting a sell-out at La Rosaleda for the return leg, reinforces calculations indicating that all tickets will be sold, even though Sunday's match is not the decisive one for promotion.
