Plaza Stagno, a key location during the Pontiff's visit to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, was filled with music and youthful enthusiasm. Young members of the Nazarenes group from Vegueta performed with timples, guitars, and voices to entertain the crowd awaiting the arrival of Pope León XIV, who is set to receive the city's golden keys there.
Among those present was Samuel Hernández, who described the Pope as 'a beacon for young people.' The participation of individuals as young as 16 in the musical group was highlighted as evidence that youth continue to find spaces to live their faith.
“"We must seek out young people and bring them closer to the Lord in a different way; and if we have to pick up a guitar and sing, we will"
The scene captured one of the most intimate moments of León XIV's visit to the Canary Islands, marked by music, shared faith, and the active participation of a generation within the Church.
