The project has successfully removed architectural barriers on the ground floor, equipped adapted restrooms for individuals with reduced mobility, and installed a new access ramp. These enhancements ensure compliance with current regulations and promote universal access to the building.
In addition to accessibility, the entire electrical system and lighting have been completely replaced, improving the safety and functionality of the property, which was originally built in 1970. These upgrades address a long-standing request from the club's board.
The Vice President of the Cabildo, Augusto Hidalgo, accompanied by council members from the Gáldar City Council and club representatives, visited the facilities to inspect the completed works. Hidalgo emphasized the venue's significance for local community life and social cohesion in the area.
During the visit, the President of the Club Deportivo Sardina, Expidio Tacoronte, and the secretary, Jeanette Vega Peña, expressed their gratitude for the institutional support. The possibility of future funding for facade and other interior improvements was also discussed.
This renovation is part of a Cabildo program aimed at preserving and enhancing social and sports heritage across Gran Canaria, with similar projects already completed for other sports and neighborhood associations in Gáldar.
