The incident took place on July 20, 2026, at 09:16 hours, on Avenida Marítima, near Juan XXIII street, in the municipality of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The Emergency and Safety Coordination Center (CECOES) 1 1 2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert from the Port Authority reporting a fall in a breakwater area. The necessary emergency resources were immediately activated.
Firefighters from the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Fire Extinction, Rescue, and Salvage Service reached the injured man, proceeded with his rescue, and evacuated him to the meeting point with medical personnel.
The man, aged 34, presented with a moderate upper limb injury at the time of assistance. He was transported by a basic life support ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital in Gran Canaria.
The Local Police collaborated with the other emergency services during the operation.
