Three people were affected by smoke inhalation this Wednesday, July 15, 2026, after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a home on Calle Balos, in Telde, Gran Canaria.

The fire started at 06:31 hours and was extinguished before firefighters arrived. The firefighters proceeded to ventilate the building. The Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 of the Government of the Canary Islands received the alert and activated the necessary resources.
Emergency services from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) assisted a 72-year-old woman and two men, aged 73 and 52. All of them presented moderate smoke inhalation.
The three affected individuals were transferred to the Gran Canaria Insular University Hospital by SUC ambulances. The National Police and Local Police secured the area and carried out the relevant proceedings.
