The initiative, promoted by Tenerife Previene and the Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, will offer free risk assessments and health advice to citizens from 09:30 to 13:30. The objective is to raise awareness about the importance of early detection of type 2 diabetes.
A multidisciplinary team of health professionals will conduct the Findrisc test, a quick and non-invasive assessment to determine the probability of developing the disease in the next 10 years. Anthropometric measurements and guidance on healthy lifestyle habits will also be provided.
Nutritional education sessions, such as the Harvard Plate workshop, will be held to teach how to structure daily meals. Individuals identified as high-risk will be referred to their primary care physician for timely follow-up.
The ADT and the La Guancha City Council invite the public to participate in this community prevention event. The campaign is supported by various health and municipal entities.
