The initiative aims to bring donation closer to residents and visitors during the summer months. Today and tomorrow, the unit will be operational in Valle Gran Rey, at the Plaza de San Pedro, with afternoon hours. On Wednesday, the mobile unit will move to Alajeró, specifically to the Avenida Marítima de Playa de Santiago.
Donation sessions will continue on Thursday and Friday in San Sebastián de La Gomera, with a designated area in the Plaza Las Américas. The schedules vary between morning and afternoon to accommodate donors' availability.
In addition to these temporary points, the island has a fixed blood donation center at the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. This facility accepts donations in the morning throughout the week, except on holidays.
To donate blood, individuals must meet basic requirements such as being between eighteen and 65 years old (sixty for first-time donors), weighing over fifty kilograms, and being in good general health. Interested individuals can obtain more information by calling the toll-free number 900 234 061 or visiting efectodonacion.com.
