The island institution is seeking participation from local businesses and food companies, providing up to 50 stands for this key event on the Gomera commercial calendar. The aim is to strengthen the business fabric, generate economic activity, and offer a showcase for local products.
Casimiro Curbelo, president of the Cabildo, highlighted Exposaldo's strategic importance for the island's economy, emphasizing the role of proximity commerce in job creation and municipal vitality. "We continue to promote tools that enhance their competitiveness and encourage consumption," he stated.
The fair will blend its commercial aspect with a cultural, musical, and leisure program. Additionally, a specific space will be dedicated to fashion and island designers to promote and market their creations.
María Isabel Méndez, the island's counselor for Tourism, Commerce, and Consumption, noted that Exposaldo has become a valuable tool for establishments to increase visibility and offer products to customers under attractive conditions. The previous edition concluded with a positive balance, with a high percentage of participating businesses intending to return.
The deadline for submitting applications is from September 8 to 22. Individuals or legal entities with an establishment in La Gomera, whose commercial activity aligns with the fair's theme, are eligible to participate. Crafts, services, and restoration businesses are excluded. Participants must be up-to-date with their tax and Social Security obligations.
Retailers must be registered for Economic Activities Tax and offer advantageous prices. Food companies must provide proof of self-employed status, a valid health registration, and food handler cards for designated sales personnel, in addition to having their fiscal domicile in La Gomera. Applications can be submitted through the Cabildo's General Registry or its electronic headquarters, with electronic processing being mandatory for legal entities.
