La Gomera is celebrating Canary Islands Day with a cultural agenda running from May 28th to June 6th, emphasizing music and dance.

The island of La Gomera is celebrating Canary Islands Day with a special program kicking off this Thursday, May 28th. The events, scheduled to run until Saturday, June 6th, feature prominent figures from the Canarian music scene.
The cultural agenda begins at the Alajeró Town Hall on Thursday, May 28th, at 7:00 PM with the show "Vuelta al origen" by José Manuel Ramos, featuring special guest Fabiola Socas. The following day, Friday, May 29th, music and dance will take center stage. In Agulo, the Parranda Chigadá will perform at the Plaza de Leoncio Bento at 8:00 PM, while the Ballet Tenerife will present their dance performance "Nuit en dance" at the Auditorio Insular de La Gomera in San Sebastián, with free admission until capacity is reached.
On Saturday, May 30th, Canary Islands Day itself, cultural activities will spread across several municipalities. The Parranda Los Mesturados will perform at 3:00 PM in Hermigua's Parque El Curato. Later, the Parranda Chigadá will perform at 4:00 PM at the Muelle de Vueltas in Valle Gran Rey. The day concludes at 8:00 PM in Vallehermoso's Plaza de la Constitución with a musical performance by Pedro Guerra and his "Parceiros acústico" show.
The program continues on Sunday, May 31st, in Vallehermoso. At 6:00 PM, the exhibition "De telar y pantalón vaquero" by Arón Morales will open in the Plaza de la Constitución. Following this, at 7:00 PM, timple player Germán López and guitarist Yuniel Rascón will perform their concert "Canela y Limón".
This initiative, supported by the Cabildo de La Gomera in collaboration with the island's six town councils, aims to bring culture closer to citizens and celebrate Canarian identity through musical performances, dance shows, and art exhibitions.
