Timple player Domingo Rodríguez ‘El Colorao’ presents his show ‘La línea del horizonte’ on June 5th at the Insular Auditorium of San Sebastián, La Gomera, accompanied by his daughters Julia and Ayla.

The Insular Auditorium of San Sebastián, in La Gomera, will be the stage on June 5th at 8:00 PM for the musical performance ‘La línea del horizonte’. This intimate and poetic production features the participation of the renowned timple player from Fuerteventura, Domingo Rodríguez ‘El Colorao’, alongside his two daughters, Julia and Ayla.
Promoted by the Cabildo of La Gomera to commemorate Canary Islands Day and supported by the Mares Program of the Canary Islands Institute for Cultural Development, the performance is offered free of charge. ‘El Colorao’, considered one of the most influential artists in Canary Islands popular music, conceives this show as a journey of sound and emotion.
The work, directed and dramatized by Mario Vega and Ruth Sánchez, and produced by Unahoramenos, is based on texts written by the three artists. Through poems, songs, and reflections, the performance unfolds as a three-voice conversation that intertwines live music, words, and shared memory, creating an immersive atmosphere where tradition dialogues with experimentation.
The title, ‘La línea del horizonte’ (The Horizon Line), evokes the constant presence of the sea in the lives of Canarians, symbolizing belonging, search, and projection towards the future. The proposal celebrates the art of family storytelling and a shared gaze towards a horizon that, though unattainable, serves as a guide.
