The Cabildo of La Palma, through the Saborea La Palma project managed by the public company Sodepal, has supported the attendance of five companies from the island at the 29th edition of Salimat Abanca 2026. This Atlantic Food Show will take place at the Silleda Fairgrounds between June 4th and 7th.
Miriam Perestelo, Minister of Economic Promotion for the Cabildo of La Palma and CEO of Sodepal, highlighted the public entity's support for La Palma's professionals. The goal is to facilitate participation in this key event for establishing B2B meetings and enhancing product sales in the national market.
La Palma's presence at the fair will focus on business, featuring a professional agenda of pre-arranged commercial meetings. These appointments aim to establish direct contact with national and international buyers, distributors, the hospitality sector, and specialized stores, leveraging the island's product identity and quality.
The delegation from La Palma includes Destilerías Aldea, known for its artisanal sugarcane rums; La Destiladera, which preserves traditional recipes and the identity of La Palma's products; and Veganorte, focused on innovation and sustainability in the wine sector.
Rounding out the representation are Vinos Mergus, producing unique wines that reflect the island's volcanic character, and Mi Dulce Pastel, an artisanal pastry business blending design with local flavors.
Sodepal emphasizes the importance of this trade fair format for maximizing the return on institutional investment, ensuring that La Palma's products reach purchasing managers seeking the differentiation and exclusivity the island offers.
