In May, the 191 operational accommodation businesses in Lanzarote generated a total of 69.44 million euros. This figure, according to the Cabildo's Data Center, represents the most modest income of 2026, contrasting with the 101.82 million euros recorded in March.
Despite being a modest amount, May's performance showed an 8.8% improvement compared to the revenue obtained in May 2025.
Hotels were the primary contributors, generating over 54.07 million euros. Meanwhile, apartments and similar establishments achieved combined revenues of approximately 15.37 million euros.
These results were achieved after serving over 235,600 guests, who accounted for more than 1.37 million overnight stays.
In the cumulative total for the first five months of the year, tourism revenue on the island exceeds 435 million euros, suggesting that the record of over 1.021 billion euros set at the close of the previous year could be surpassed.
It is important to note that these figures do not include revenue from holiday rentals, which reported just over 12.02 million euros in May. The figure for this type of accommodation last month was the lowest of the year to date.
